This place was delicious. I don't remember anything particular about this soup (i.e., too spicy, too salty, too runny, etc), which probably means there was nothing wrong with it! I'm deciding whether I prefer tortilla soup with or without the chicken.

Iowa

Even Iowa has Huevos Rancheros!

I lived in Iowa from August 2006-November 2006 and tried some Huevos Rancheros while there. I can't remember where I ate these... if anyone can tell me where these pictures were taken (recognize clues like the table... type of plate... etc?), please let me know!

"Ranchero Eggs: Crispy red pepper tortillas, fried eggs, black beans, Pickled jalapeno, lettuce, pico, chipotle aioli and yukon potatoes topped with melted cheddar and sour cream"

To date, the most unusual version of Huevos Rancheros I'd seen... This was more like nachos. It was good, but probably shouldn't even qualify as "Ranchero Eggs." And I don't think cheddar cheese is authentic. The cheese and chips made it taste heavier and more unhealthy than usual.
